WELCOME TO NURSERY
Our topic for Spring 2 is ‘Transport’. The children will learn about different types of transport and talk about how we travel from a place to another.
In Literacy we will be reading stories such as Rosie’s Walk, Naughty Bus, Who sank the Boat and The Train Ride. We will also be looking at non-fiction books about transport and how transport looks like around the world.
In maths children will be continuing to learn how to order numbers from 0 to 10 and to count objects. They will also learn about positional language and 2D shapes.
You will find an overview outlining what we will cover during this half-term here. Spring 1 Curriculum Map
Nursery Daily Life
Books and Book bags
Please ensure that your child has a book bag that they bring in to school every day. Your child will have a story book and a reading record that can be changed on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Please make sure you write a comment on your child’s reading record before we change it.
Children receive a home learning task and a video explaining the activity will be uploaded on ClassDojo, every Wednesday.
Please ensure your child brings their home learning folder every Wednesday.
Uniform and spare clothes
Children are expected to wear their uniform including black school shoes. We also ask you to provide a spare set of clothes for your child. If your child has had a toilet accident or becomes wet from playing in the water tray, we will change your child into their spare clothes, please ensure you send another spare set to nursery on the following day.
Please ensure all items of clothing are named clearly.
As the days are still colder, please ensure your child comes to school in a coat, hat and scarf. Children have continual access to the outside area so make sure they come to school dressed appropriately.
Please ensure your child brings a water bottle every day to nursery.
